Although Microsoft already offered its customers a range of payment options, it recognised that the seamless nature of Charge to Bill improves its overall conversion rate. It also wanted to give its customers a greater choice of payment options, especially those without access to a credit or debit card.

Working with our payment integration partner Bango, we gave Microsoft a seamless click-to-buy payment solution, removing the need for customers to enter lengthy payment details. For customers, setting up a premium account became a simple click-to-buy experience. And our API-first approach to development and partner integration meant Microsoft integrated our product quickly, reducing its costs.

Third parties are carrying out ongoing security pen testing to make sure the solution is secure. We have been recognised by the PSA as best in class for the Charge to Bill experience.

Microsoft now has a significant base of Charge to Bill customers, who enjoy the seamless experience of paying for their third-party service directly onto their mobile bill.


Carrier billing with EE has allowed us to offer greater customer choice in payments, is a great tool for customer acquisition, and has helped grow customer spend on the platform.
